This red berry delight smoothie is jam-packed with flavor and antioxidants.

Not only are raspberries low in sugar, they’re high in vitamin C and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Spinach helps cut the tart flavor profile the raspberries and cranberry can have and provides extra fiber. It also has vitamin K, iron, and folic acid. You can add lots of spinach without negatively impacting the flavor of this smoothie.

For this red berry delight smoothie I just made one portion in a blender cup. I love that our blender came with a couple of blender cups. It makes making a smoothie for one person so much easier.

We got this Ninja blender system a couple years ago and it has served us really well.

Ingredients:

  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Spinach
  • Cranberry juice
  • Almond milk
  • Chia seeds

Rinse your produce. A mesh strainer works really well for rinsing berries.

Add all the ingredients into a blender cup. The order doesn’t matter.

Attach lid and blend until smooth. It might look fun on TV when someone forgets the lid, but do you really want to clean fruit puree off the ceiling?

Smoothie Tips

This smoothie has a thin consistency but given a few minutes, the chia seeds will act as a thickener. Or you can add half a banana or avocado to add some thickness.

The flavor can be a bit sour. If you like a little less zing, add a spoonful of yogurt or substitute some of the cranberry juice for more almond milk. If you added banana or avocado that should help too.

I used fresh berries, but you can use frozen ones. When you use fresh produce, the smoothie isn’t as cold, and I find that it feels gentler on the stomach.

Raspberries are so good. What’s your favorite fruit to include in a smoothie?
