This pineapple upside down cake smoothie recipe is a delicious way to enjoy some fresh pineapple.

It’s great if you’re post-embryo transfer or in the 2 week wait and looking to get in that pineapple core. The extra bromelain (especially in the core) is supposed to help with embryo implantation.

Plus, it’s just a super yummy snack or meal for anytime.

Smoothies are a great way to use the pineapple core, which can be tough to eat.

For some protein and flavor, I used Blogilates’ Sculpt + Debloat Protein Powder in Sweet Cream, but you could swap it for any vanilla or cake flavored protein powder.

I’ve been eyeing the Alani Nu Confetti Cake flavor too- if you’ve tried it let us know if you like it in the comments below.

I cut an average pineapple into 5-7 round slices, about ½-inch thick. When using my blender cup I’ll cut the slice in half to fit.

I like to add spinach last and will add as much as I can to the blender cup. Sneaking spinach into smoothies is great because it adds folate and iron but doesn’t affect the flavor like kale does.

We have this Ninja blender that came with 2 cups with lids, and a food processor with a sharp blade and dough blade as well as the regular blender.

And I use these metal straws. They fit perfectly through the lid (and help me to not spill! 🙃)

Mix it Up:

Try adding raspberries or strawberries for some flavor variations.

If you’re seed cycling, you can swap out the ground flaxseed for sesame seeds during the luteal phase, after ovulation.
